Emergency Contraception

Following a decision by the Irish Medicines Board to change the status of 'NORLEVO' from Prescription-Only-Medicine (POM) to Pharmacist sale, Irish pharmacies can now supply this Emergency Contraception preparation without prescription. We have now written our procedure for Pharmacist supply following a consultation, which follows current guidance from the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI-the pharmacy regulator).

Codeine containing medicines - new guidelines

New guidelines on the supply of over-the-counter medicines that contain Codeine have been issued by the PSI (the Pharmacy Regulator). These medicines are now stored in the dispensing area of the pharmacy and can only be supplied by the Pharmacist on duty.
